Hi Guys! I have been on two big surf trips and been surfing in Scotland again since December.
Over Christmas and New Year I went out to Melbourne and surfed along the Great Ocean Road and on the Mornington Peninsula. It was summer swells so the surf was inconsistent but I probably scored it best at Gunamatta. It was hot – 40 degrees some days, bit of a change from our Winter!
Winter ended early this year for the Joxy Team who headed out to NGor Island off the West Coast of Africa, Dakar, Senegal. Getting onto local open fishing boats everyday we have been treated to a huge variety of waves from small to double overhead, lefts, rights walls, barrels, 150m rides. We surfed consistant reefs for the whole trip and even with reef boots on we were picking urchins out of our feet and bodies everyday! The right hand wave on the Island is featured in Endless Summer and it didn’t disappoint. It was big and powerful and we got to surf it most days. The people are super friendly and there is such a chilled vibe by the beaches and market shacks. Probably one of the best surf trips ever!
Next Joxy trips are going to be Scotland based to explore some more wild and rugged areas.
