What is Loperamide?
Loperamide is a synthetic piperidine derivative. It is used to control and releive the symptoms of diarrhea including traveler's diarrhea and the diarrhea associated with inflammatory bowel diseases.Tell your doctor if any of these apply to you:
- you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
- you have a black or bloody stool
- you are allergic to Loperamide, any other medicine, foods, dyes, preservatives, or other substances
- you have a bacterial poisoning
- you have severe abdominal pain, swelling or bulging
- you have colitis or micus in your stool
- you have liver disease
- you have fever
- you are taking an antibiotic medication for an infection
- You have diarrhea for more than 2 days
How to use:

- Do not take Loperamide for more than one week
- If your symptoms do not improve within 2 days, contact your doctor at once
