Tell your doctor if any of these apply to you:
an unusual or allergic reaction to Tamsulosin, other medicines, foods, dyes, preservatives, or other substances
kidney or liver disease
prostate cancer
low blood pressure
How to use:
Strictly follow your doctor's instructions
Follow the directions on the presription label
Take Tamsulosin capsules by mouth after a meal
Take your doses at regular intervals
Do not stop taking Tamsulosin until your doctor say so
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can
Avoid taking double or extra doses
Safety issues:
Visit your doctor regularly while taking Tamsulosin.
Tamsulosin may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving, operating machinery, or performing other tasks that require mental alertness until you know how Tamsulosin affects you.
If you experience prolonged or painful erection of the penis which is unrelated to sexual activity, contact your doctor at once
Tell your doctor if you are going to have surgery
What drug(s) may interact with Tamsulosin?
other alpha-blockers, such as alfuzosin, terazosin, prazosin, phenoxybenzamine, doxazosin, phetnolamine
warfarin
cimetidine
vardenafil
sildenafil (doses of Sildenafil higher than 25 mg should be taken at least 4 hours apart from taking Tamsulosin)
tadalafil
Possible side effects:
If you experience these side effects, you should contact your doctor immediately:
weakness
difficulty breathing, shortness of breath
visual problems
prolonged painful erection of the penis
fainting spells
These side effects usually don't require medical attention (but you should contact your doctor if they continue or are bothersome):
runny or stuffy nose
back pain
nausea
diarrhea
insomnia
dizziness
drowsiness
headache
sexual problems (ejaculation problems or decreased sex drive)
What is the shelf life of the pills?
The expiry date is mentioned on each blister. It is different for different batches. The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture and would differ from batch to batch depending on when they were manufactured.
